Last week we announced the exciting news that Fiji is the next destination for our annual conference.  Taking place in August the 2010 Connections Conference will be hosted at Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa. The exciting itinerary of business events will be held on 5th and 6th August and is set to be bigger, better and bolder than newsagents have ever experienced before.

For the first time ever we will be giving ALL Connections members the opportunity to attend the conference but there are still only places for 150 stores – it will be first in, best dressed for this industry leading event.

Registration for the conference will commence shortly.  What we can tell you now though is that in order to secure your place at Fiji this year we are introducing a bond process.  You can pay your bond either with 25,000 Connections points or provide us with $100 payable by cheque or credit card.  This bond is fully refunded on conference attendance and will show up as a credit on your room account of $100 for you to spend how you like.  In the event that you cancel past the final cancellation date of Wednesday 30th June we will retain the bond to cover the costs that we will incur from the venue.

So what next?
Once registration opens places are expected to fill up fast so make sure you have the following things in check so you can be ready to secure your spot:
• Do you have a valid passport or intend to apply for one?
• Will you have staff available to cover your time away from the shop?
• Should you secure a spot will you be taking any additional time off and enjoying a much needed holiday?
• Have you started researching flights to get the best deals?
• How will you pay the bond required to secure your place?
