Wow there’s some incredible staff members out there working in your stores which has made judging employee spotlight extremely tough for us this time round.
We were swamped with nominations and stories of hard work, enthusiasm and commitment. Being so hard to judge we’ve decided to reward not one but FIVE of these outstanding employees with a $40 Coles Myer Voucher.
Congratulations to all of these hard working team members. Here’s what their employers had to say about them:
Tina Moore | Raceview News “We have a star employee. She is the brightest happiest little munchkin in our shop. She displays sensitivity and empathy when dealing with our elderly customers, bubbly personality when dealing with Generation X Customers and a pleasure to have on our team. She has been with us for just short of 12 months and achieving her sales goals at an alarming rate.” Glenis Daly | Marulan Newsagency “I would like to nominate Glenis Daly, my most senior employee at 62, for a star employee. She works tirelessly in the early hours of the morning distributing newspapers and magazines to sub-agents and collecting the returns for processing. She has only worked for me for 2 years, but over this time has taken on more and more duties, even taking over the shift of my cleaning lady when she retired a few months ago. She is an employee with boundless energy in the prime of her life. I encourage all employers to give more opportunities to older age employees, they might surprise you!” Toni Leigh Glindermann | Highland Park News “I would like to nominate Toni Leigh Glindemann for her efforts in this year's Valentines Day in store promotion. She designed an offer for all purchasers of any displayed ACP magazine. This involved a give away of a romantic dinner for 2 ( she arranged our local restaurant to provide us with a voucher, as part of a local area marketing campaign.) She set up the store display and as a result we surpassed our usual sales in a number of categories.” Peter Budd | Nambucca Heads Newsagency “Peter does our delivery run two mornings a week and works in the shop 3 days a week. He is our Jack of all trades. He is always checking out what other stores are doing and is keen to suggest ideas to help increase sales and to promote certain products. The customers enjoy his service as he is quick with a joke or a compliment to the older ladies. He also has a great rapport with fellow staff members and enjoys the competitive up selling rivalry. Peter arrives to work early and makes sure there is nothing else that needs to be done before he leaves. Peter is keen to suggest ideas to increase sales or to promote our shop. I think he is deserving of this reward and I'm sure he will very appreciative of it.” Alisha Spiteri | Lake Haven Newsagency “Alisha originally came to us for a one week period last year, as part of a work experience program conducted by Northlakes High School. When we discussed having Alisha at the shop I was a little apprehensive, as I thought about the amount of time and effort that would be required to train someone to get up to speed would be wasted as she would be leaving at the end of the week to go back to school. Alisha is turning out to be a real surprise package and a very keen learner. After her week at the Newsagency I was extremely impressed and offered Alisha a role, she now works as a casual employee, working weekends , weekdays after school and also worked over the school holidays. Alisha has demonstrated an incredible work ethic and we are extremely lucky and fortunate to have such a young keen employee working for us.” Did your staff member miss out?
