We think Portarlington Newsagency is a shining star this month having seen the hard work and dedication put in by Peter and Mandy Howard since joining the program back in April.
In 3 short months we’ve seen Mandy work hard to build the stores online presence using Facebook as a platform for communicating with customers and networking with other newsagents.
From lotto results to magazine features and customer photos, Mandy keeps her Facebook page up to date with the latest and greatest things happening in their store. Mandy participates in discussions and has started to build relationships with other newsagents also using Facebook – a great way to share ideas and build a network.
Where is Portarlington? Portarlington is a historical coastal township located on the Bellarine Peninsula, 27km from the city of Geelong, in Victoria. Portarlington is a popular family holiday destination and also known as the “Mussel Capital of Victoria” in fact every summer they host the Portarlington Mussel Festival which would bring in a lot of seasonal business for Peter and Mandy.
We think it’s fantastic that one of our new members is embracing social media and utilising their networks to better understand the newsagency industry. As a result we’re awarding Portarlington Newsagency the honour of Connections Newsagent Spotlight for June and sending Peter and Mandy a $40 Coles Myer voucher to shout morning tea for their team.
We’ll also give them a head start with their Connections points by adding 5,000 points to their account.
Newsagent Spotlight is an initiative that highlights newsagents’ over and above efforts and achievements in their stores. Don’t forget to tell us what you are doing in your store! Send your stories to connections@acpmagazines.com.au and you could see yourself in our spotlight next month!
