Subagency Management

At ACP Magazines, we truly value our newsagency distribution network. By taking a progressive and customer service oriented approach to subagency management, we believe our newsagents will continue to build lasting business relationships and ensure a long future for this vibrant distribution network.

Together with the Australian Newsagents Federation and respective State Associations, (See ANF endorsement) ACP Magazines has worked hard to set up guidelines designed to assist in the day-to-day management and expectations of subagents and to help newsagents operate the distribution aspect of their business in a more consistent and viable way.

Working together, we identified areas of common misunderstandings in relation to subagency management. The vast majority of these were about day to day business practice:

1. Signing ACP Magazines Subagency Agreements
2. Consistent and appropriate allocations
3. Delivery times
4. Stacking and re-stocking shelves
5. Incorrect invoicing

It became clear that by providing business guidelines to newsagents and subagents, we should be able to clear up some of these complaints and open up the channel of communication, to build stronger relationships for the future. To compliment the ACP Magazines Subagency Agreement, we launched the ACP Magazines Guidelines for Subagency Management in February 2000. This was re-launched in May 2002.

While we have dedicated staff to assist with the mediation of any dispute, we believe the best approach is to instil a consistent and regular interaction between newsagents and subagents.
